This morning, I’m sitting on the porch talking with the Lord, and I find myself simply thankful.
My medical procedure went smoothly, and the results were positive. As I sit here thinking about it, I can’t help but give God the glory.
I know there were skilled people in that room who knew exactly what they were doing. There were doctors, nurses, technicians, and staff who had the knowledge and training to care for me. But I also believe that God was there. I believe the Holy Spirit was with me, and I am thankful for the knowledge, wisdom, and guidance He has given the people who cared for me. Things could have gone very differently, but the Lord was gracious.
So this morning, I want to take a moment to say thank you.
Thank You, Father God, for being with me through this week and for carrying me through the procedure. Thank You for the peace You gave me and for the good results.
I want to thank my pastor, Pastor Phillips, and my church family at Mt. Carmel for praying for me. I want to thank my family—both my blood family and my spiritual family—for every prayer, message, thought, and word of encouragement.I also want to thank my brothers and sisters at Solomon’s Porch Church.
Knowing that people were praying for me leading up to the procedure and on the day of it meant more than I can probably put into words.
And God even gave me a couple of unexpected blessings along the way. While I was at the facility, I had the opportunity to meet two sweet older Christian ladies. Sometimes God puts people in our path for just a few moments, but those moments can still be a blessing.
As I sit here this morning, I realize once again how much we have to be thankful for.
Sometimes we spend so much time asking God for what we need that we forget to stop and thank Him for what He has already done.
So that’s my encouragement to you this morning.
Take a moment to thank God.
Thank Him for the big things.
Thank Him for the little things.
Thank Him for the people He has placed in your life.
And maybe even thank Him for the people He put in your path for only a few minutes.
We never know how God is working through the people and circumstances around us.
I’m looking forward to a great weekend, and my prayer is that we don’t simply enjoy the weekend for ourselves. Let’s continue to witness, let’s continue to encourage one another, and let’s continue pointing people toward Jesus Christ.
God has been good to me.
Thank You, Lord.
Until the rain falls again…
Grace and peace,
A Porch Believer
